More than half the members attended the CCC AGM and Annual Awards evening last night, a really good turnout for the end of the season. After the official business of the AGM, where Martyn Smith stepped down as Programme Secretary after his amazing five years, the committee welcomed Dave Cahill as new Programme Secretary. Martyn was thanked for his tirelesss enthusiasm and dedication to the role, and was presented with a special book. Carol Thorne also ‘retired’ after 5 years of doing the weekly Raffle which helps pay for the hire of the hall – over the years she has encouraged members to part with many hundreds of pound coins in return for the possibility of winning a bottle of wine or some chocolates! We also thanked for her dedication and commitment to the role and presented her with a plant – Katrina Ellor has very kindly agreed to take on the role.

A light hearted competition called Guess Who also took place with 32 members sending in images of their younger selves – thank you to all who entered into the spirit of this.
Carol Thorne won with 10 correct guesses, and spot prizes went to Colin Hoskins ( we will spare his blushes and not say why he was given this award!) and Alun Thomas who had changed the least since he was a baby !
