Billy Kerr

Bio: I guess I have always had a loose interest in photography having owned an Olympus OM10 SLR in the mid-eighties and bought a Panasonic FZ20 bridge camera in 2004 when digital cameras were becoming the thing. But I only really started to take photography more seriously from 2015 when I subscribed to the online photo journal Blipfoto. Having to post a picture online every day meant that I had to get out and think a lot more about that daily shot. Invariably that meant carrying a small compact TZ70 zoom camera with me most days while out running or cycling in the countryside.
I joined the Camera Club (my first camera club) after moving to Cirencester in 2023. I have learned so much in that time from other members, visiting presenters and judge’s critiques of all our competition images. Needless to say, my passion for getting that “one great shot” is now even higher.
Kit: NIKON Z5 plus Tamron 70-300, NIKON 24-70 and Sigma 105 Macro lenses. (looking to get a longer zoom for wildlife photography)
Photography Interests: Ask me before I joined the club and I would just have said landscapes. Now I would broaden that to observational photography. I am realising that there are great photo opportunities everywhere!
