Free Mines Coal Faces
A presentation by Nick Hodgson MA FRPS.
Nick is a documentary landscape photographer with many years of presentation experience.
The talk covers his documentary work on coal free mining in the Forest of Dean. This work formed part of his photography MA, and his RPS Fellowship panel submission. It has also been exhibited at various locations, and there is an accompanying award-winning book called Free Mines Coal Faces which is endorsed by Magnum photographer Martin Parr.
Nick will describe the documentary project research and approach, shooting in different (and at times technically challenging) environments, and the process of producing and marketing a book. He will also talk about the RPS F panel process, and will bring some of the actual prints for the audience to look at.
