More about Heidi from her website…heidistewartphotography.weebly.com
My interest in photography started when I was about 11 years old. Very soon after, I was given my first ever camera, a Kodak Instamatic with 110 format and with Magicube flash technology too!!  After taking many candid shots of my family and so on I decided that this photography lark was pretty interesting stuff, so when the school Careers Advisor suggested I go into this line of work I happily agreed.
My very first job was working for a professional photographic lab that developed and processed commercial and school photographs. It wasn’t too long before I bought my very first 35mm SLR! – my trusty Olympus OM10. Many films went through this camera!!  I worked at the lab for quite some time and made some great friends with whom I still keep in touch to this day. It is also where I met my husband Alec, whose passion and enthusiasm for photography was and still is as great as mine. Well, we got hitched and along came three wonderful children. Unfortunately though my photography had to take a back seat. Sure, I still took photographs, but they were only snap shots of the kids. My time was taken up working and raising our family.

In 2010 I joined Gwynfa Camera Club after being nagged many times by Alec (who was already a member),  I eventually took the plunge and joined up. I have never looked back! It was a little daunting at first, entering their monthly competitions and having your work shown ‘up large’ in front of all the other members and listening to the judges comments. However, I’ve survived and with the help and encouragement from many of their members (to whom I owe so much), that spark has now been reignited and I am enjoying my photography once again. I now use a digital SLR, a 5D Mark ll, and enjoy the use of a number of lenses which consist of a Canon 17-40mm F4, a Canon 28-105mm, a Canon 70-200mm F4, and a Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro. I also use a Sigma 1.4 teleconverter and a Giotto tripod.
I have put this website together to share with you my avid love of photography.  I hope that you enjoy my work as much as I do and I’ll endeavour to keep you interested by regularly updating my website with new images. Any/all feedback is much appreciated and warmly welcomed.
