Stumbling Around In The Dark

Robert Harvey ARPS EFIAP CEnv CSci MCIWEM returns to the club for a follow up presentation to last year’s inspiring and entertaining Lansdcapes For All Seasons.

Digital photography enables us to capture the beauty of the night sky in unprecedented detail. In this evening of landscape astrophotography, I show how to use an ordinary digital single lens reflex camera to make stunning images of stars, planets, the Moon and the Milky Way, as well as elusive astronomical phenomena such as meteors and comets. In the second half, I recount travels in the arctic in search of the aurora borealis and across four continents to photograph total solar eclipses.
