Lockdown 2020 / 2021 has meant many different things to many people but to three fortunate Cirencester Camera Club members it provided a chance to work towards an award from the Royal Photographic Society, the Licentiate, which is the first level award. An LRPS is given in recognition of a photographer’s ability to achieve a particular set of skills and criteria as set out by the Society – technical competence, communication skills, visual awareness and an ability to create an overall impression with a set of ten images.
Jill Bewley, John Smith and Martyn Smith were all awarded their LRPS between the months of March and May, and given that the pass rate is around 65% they were all extremely pleased and relieved to hear that they had been successful.
